fieldsportsman
hi all, i was thinking about increasing the rate of fire on my supersport springer, i thought if you cut a strip of blue tack and stick it on the side of the rifle and place some pellets in eavenly spread, this would save time faffing around with a pellet tin etc, would this work. Hi You could try making pellet holder from plumbing insulation tubing.. Or if not successful buy a phillips pellet holder, you can find on Ebay... aliengravy
If you have a honeycomb pattern in the side of your butt pad you can keep about 50 in there. Have always done that with my guns
The Duncan
At the risk of sounding bleedin obvious, have you considered a pellet pouch? Leather, purpose made, hangs round the neck so handy and handsfree. With the added bonus of not having your ammo mixing with pocket fluff, keys or whatever else resides in the dark. Does wonders for accuracy They are not expensive either. Edited December 5, 2010 by The Duncan

The post was "hi all, i was thinking about increasing the rate of fire on my supersport springer" Having a pocket or pouch does not tick the box! why? When you "fumble" for your pellet do you grab the head or tail? I think the question was what can you increase your rate of fire ie frequency of firing per minute, this could be achieved by a either a magazine and if no magazine available for your weapon, then a better way of getting ammo into hand/then into breech, extracting from pocket or pouch is only a slight improvement...having some kind of accessable reservoir were you grab tail of pellet and push into breech may help rate of fire just blindly grabbing pellet in pocket/pouch is not (with respect) "bleedin obvious" !! as if you grab head you need to twist pellet in correct direction then into breech,,,their for slowing down reloading ..sorry if I sound disrespectful just trying to help the posters original issue? mentor
pabs
One up the spout and one in your hand. If you need more than 2 quick shots, you're doing something wrong.

Yep, on the rare occasion I take a springer in the field, I keep a pellet in my left hand ready just in case I need that second shot. Lez325
If you need to increase the rate of fire on an air rifle- just buy a pcp with a 10 shot mag- Job done Les :yp:

If that's not quick enough some kind of autoload system then? My HW100 can cycle shots pretty damn quickly All the best Duncan

LOL Me, I have fingers like bananas, hence my interest in pellet holders that make selection/reloading easier. Especially in this bloody weather !! I am always open to suggestions/ideas... Best regards, mentor :-) Ah bless ya Mentor! I'm not keen on the cold and banana finger feeling myself! Like others who have posted said, if I was using a springer, I'd be holding a pellet gently between thumb and index finger in the leading hand ready if a second shot was needed quickly. Harder with gloves I think, but other than an autoload system I can't think of a quicker way to reload a springer. Theoben do the SLR - autoload underlever gas ram job. Dear, but a friend has said his is excellent. Very well engineered and a very reasonable long term investment.
