Catamong
Well, what do you want to know..??, I've shot every one since it started about 10 years ago, it's squadded, book in advance and pay on the day, the ground is OK but nothing special, the targets tend to be fair, but a tad tougher than your average shoot. Those that shoot the 200 in one day and are not used to it usually fall to bits over the last 50 birds, so expect a late meltdown after a promising start. You won't get Haute Cuisine at the ground, only a burger van, and as for a good B&B near the ground, forget it, you're in Essex, don't you know, the County that bought you the XR3i soft top, shell suits and Jordan, so get real and book into a Travelodge in Braintree, that's the best you'll get. Enjoy..!! Cat.

Well Cat that's put a damper on that then unless of course you are winding me up -- which I know you wouldn't do I think I'll give this one a miss then as the sound of the difficult birds has put me right off lol I don't mind sleepin in a tent and eating burgers for a couple of days but the sight of shells suits would be hard to stick although I wouldn't mind picking up a good XR3i soft top but then it would be hard to deal with some one still wearing a shell suit and probably with a perm What ESP shoot would you recommend us giving a try around April/May next year ? f3
Nicky T
By all accounts the Essex Masters is a cracking comp - i'm looking forward to shooting it for the first time in April

They get a very good entry, but some people who've shot every one like I have have said that it can be a bit "samey", year on year. The course setter makes the best of a fairly ordinary piece of ground, with some tasty crossers and zippy little birds that catch plenty of people out. I'm told that this years event will include a "new" bit of ground, so we'll wait and see, it could one of the best events of the year, despite being in Essex..?? Cat. Nicky T
Can this shoot stil be shot in one day or is it over two days mow ? f3 I believe that you can do either by specifying your choice when you book in.

It depends how your stamina is, I improved in the afternoon last year and equalled my morning score the year before!! Dont be put off, its a great shoot, taxing, ............. if it was too easy what would be the point? Cats right though, if you eat there....bring the immodium!!!
