Hello folks,

I had a chat yesterday to a lady from the Northern Red Squirrels group. As i have been looking to setup a new group to help our Red Squirrels.

Whilst we were chatting i mentions trying to include and collection information from other groups like PW regarding Grey Squirrel culling.

She had never heard of the Pigeon Watch before.. but seemed pleased that we were actively trapping and shooting Greys.

Just thought id do a bit of flag waving for the PW ;)

Cheers

John

Well done.

If you search PW you will find a few articles about trapping, and making traps for the greys.

Please remember to add your kills to the PW running count. Over the years PW members have accounted for several thousand greys which can only be to the good. It would be good if PW could have a positive effect on re establishing reds in a particular area.

PW member rsrjerry is employed full time protecting reds, you may get some good tips from him.

FYI you probably already know this but the IOW has a massive population of Reds, and NO greys at all!

Plenty of groups and societies there for your perusal!

Hands up, I never knew that, Brownsea Island is a haven and there is a sanctuary SOMEWHERE Deven/Cornwall way I have heard, but I have to admit I had no idea the Isle of Wight was a Grey free zone! :good::good::good:
