beatingisbest
Nowt wrong with fixed mag, it usually means you have a big willy so dont need a big scope! can only be true!
Hubertus
Roe stalking... buy a 1,5-6x42 or a 6x42 for roe stalking. That is absolutely perfect. Normally you dont need a 56er scope for roe shooting. Hubertus

Hubertus whats your reasoning behind this opinion? if you have a 8 time fixed scope and you want to shoot on 25 meter you get problems because the deer is so big in the scope and you can find him hardly. Especially if they are moving. All the guys i know who had a big fixed one (8) sold them after one or two season(s). Hubertus
gibby
Do you happen to know if they will post to UK? I keep getting hopefull that someone is selling, i say we move this... Gibby
Devilishdave
What would you expect to pay for a 8x56 schmidt? I am also interested in one for my .243 stalking rifle Dave
gibby
Depends which one you are looking at... The hungarian ones are the same as germans but the labour is cheaper, so save a bit of money and go for hungarian... And if you can go for the 30mm tube. This is all i have found out over days of trawling the net. Hungarian 30mm £389 Hungarian 25mm £358 Second hand prices arent to far off these, probably £100 less, they seem to keep their money. What rifle have you got? Gibby
Devilishdave
I have a Remington 700 with a Tasco 3-9 x 56 on the top. My RFD offerd me the 30mm tube to day on a special deal at £359. is there any whare out there that can beat that by much? Dave
gibby
No they pretty much all sell for the same, ive tried countless magazines and websites, that seems a good price for what it is, Why are you changing from your variable? Take that scope if still going, im going to have to fork out soon and aint looking forward Gibby
Devilishdave
I prefer not to **** about with the variable mag it just ads one more thing to think about and has caused me problems in the past whare i over estimated the range because it was on low mag. I have heard lots of good things about the schmidt. Dave
rogo
There is a German 8X56 on Egay at £265 pounds now. It can be cancelled early so perhaps he would accept an offer.
