hi all appologies for my thickness in advance !!!!!!!!!!!.

have been asked now by a couple of people if i,ve "DONE THE TRIGGER" on my 1022 .

this is where my thickness comes in what are they on about and what are the benefits of doing it and what are the costs involved .

i regularly strip the gun to clean it and have put the silicone buffer in so i would be able to fit most parts myself also have the ruger manual for the gun

cheers

peter

by 'doing the trigger' or doing a trigger job, it means that you adjusted the trigger in such a way that you've eliminated creep and overtravel and then reduced the pull weight to a nice and appropriate setting. Sometimes it is modifying the current trigger parts, sometimes it is replacig the trigger group.

I don't know the 10/22 trigger (though I do know there are TONS of aftermarket replacements), but I've done the trigger on my HMR (now departed) and my 22. Both were different setups and needed different things. In general, taking a small hone or file to the sear and hammer cleans up the edges. Adjusting the springs will set the pull weight. All triggers are different. My savage trigger wouldn't take any filing as the metal in the older triggers is fairly soft. So in that case I used some steel wool to smooth it out and a shim to set how much 'catch' there was with the sear. My marlin took a file great and a change in springs set everything nicely.

There are good tutorials all over the web on how to adjust things. That said, if people are thinking its been done already, I wouldn't mess with it.

Thanks,

Rick

I would get on to the Volquartsen website, or Power Custom or Kidd.

You buy uprated parts and fit them to a 10/22. I have the Volquartsen TG2000 in mine
