HMR First Outing!

Took the new CZ and new S&B combo out this morning for a couple of hours to see how they perform together!

First rabbit was bang on 100 yards. And was sat amongst a group of three! The mist and fog made it interesting but I was happy to see the rabbit back flip into the burrow opening and take the HMR's first blood so to speak!

The second bunnie made the mistake of hanging around after seeing me emerge from the mist! (no gorilla jokes please)!

The squirrel fell foul to the air rifle as it was hiding in a tree!

Overall a good morning....!

As said, very nice set up :good: I love the HMR. What groups are you getting with the 455? A few have asked me what they shoot like but I don't know any one with one.

Well i'm not one for paper punching but its had 14 rounds through it so far and they have been as follows.

3 sighters @ 30 yards (to see where scope was going)

3 adjusters

3 more adjusters at 100 Yards (grouped perfectly under a 10P Piece)

5 shots on vermin 4 hits (Longest about 110 yards)

But it shoots very well and the trigger is very nice, very crisp.

Sirocco SM116P £sub £50

what do you think of the sirocco? as im thinking of getting one for hmr i use a sak at the mo and its a bit cracky.iv herd the sirocco is more quiet than the sak and you can get a special 16" barrel version (iv got a 16" cz)so what i mean is is it worth buying even thow iv got a sak :hmm:

Well to be honest i dont have anything to compare it to... but it seems very effective.

I have the 16" version and mine is the proofed one as well, the Sirocco comes with Steel Baffles at the front as well to deal with the HMR round.

But its not to expensive

Nice one, too late for mine but well worth a go for anyone else.

well i thought after reading the above i would have a quick nosey at my Mod's internals.

I cant believe how much unburnt powder comes out from the round? not very efficient!

also saying how pokey the rounds are, the first 3 Baffles in the Mod are steel the rest are plastic. ive put 14 rounds though mine and the plastic baffles are getting shredded already! see below!

Same as mine apart from the bent twisted one! If its any comfort my mk1 SAK looks the same and is just as welded as my Sirocco was! that was 1500 rounds ago. I just shoot it now and except that the mod will go in the bin when it starts to shoot off. Little to choose between them all, a Rabbit can't tell the difference thats for sure.
