land to shoot on

Recommended Posts

You originally posted this in the Airgunners section, so I assume you do not have a SGC.

This is a problem for you, as Farmers prefer shotgun owners for pest control on arable crops.

Good places for Airgunners to try are livestock yards (incl.horses,pigs, cattle, chickens,game farms, etc) and storage barns, where noise and potential structural damage is an issue.

Also areas where rabbits may be causing a problem.

If you know of any large residential properties near you that may have rabbit problems in their grounds give them a knock.

A friend of mine shoots rabbits at several large private houses and retirement homes.

Top advice :good::good:

This is exactly how I got my last permission. I advertised free pest control of rats etc in local paper's & freeads. A mixed poultry farmer got in touch (Huge rat problem!) went every weekend for about 6 weeks and shot probably 100 rats. I got to know and talked to the farmer a lot and can now shoot over 300 acres of both livestock and arable land with both air rifle & shotgun.

Don't give up and mention to everyone you know that you are looking for land to shoot over. You will be suprised how many people have horses and know of stable or pasture land with rat & rabbit problems!

When you do pick up a permission show as much willing as possible as you never know what other land or "friends" they may have with pest problems.

Good luck
