M ROBSON
We have a couple of Danish hunters, Rasmus and Ole, that have been coming over to shoot for 5 or 6 years now, often twice a year. They are particularly good hunters, as are most Danish I've met. Ole was set up on his field at 08:00 this morning and had 100 birds shot by 10:17, that has to be the fastest 100 bird bag we've ever had on winter rape. Things slowed down a bit after that and it took him the rest of the day to shoot another 57 while Rasmus had a respectable 65 on a nearby field. The weather wasn't anything special either, scattered cloud with a moderate wind. We're off out lamping tonight so I hope to get a fox or two and some bunnies. Roll on next season when I'm visiting them for a change. I'm off over to Denmark to do some Eider duck shooting. Cheers, Mark.
Hunter
I spent 3 weeks at a Danish beach. Most clean, tidy and freindly place I have ever been too. The family who lent us a house also had a couple of shotguns, and some fishing stuff.. the old man used to take us fishing on his motorboat, and he knew exactly where the fish and eel where. We always came home with buckets of fish and a big grin.. Great place
Hubertus
Denmark is a lovely place. They have quite a lot of waterfowl. Its surrounded by water. Good luck to you M Robson! Hubertus P.S.: Are there any ferries directly from Scot to Denmark?
M ROBSON
Hubertus, There are no ferrys from Scotland to Denmark that I know of. Our nearest ferry from Fife goes to Belgium. There are however budget airlines that fly into Edinburgh that will allow firearms on board. Didn't have much luck at the lamping, we all shot half a dozen Rabbits each but the Danes missed loads more. :*) I guess their better with shotguns! We only saw 2 foxes and didn't get a shot at either. Cheers, Mark.
nbd1
Now we have a dilema for whitebridges does he include these totals or not? are they members of pigeon watch. In reply to Hubertus there is a ferry from Newcastle i believe. The Danish guns must have been wel pleased with there day but having lived and shot in Denmark for many years i can tell you they are not all that good. Also to get a SGC in Denmark you have to take a test. Neil
M ROBSON
Neil, Also to get a SGC in Denmark you have to take a test. That is correct, it is very thorough and I believe only 60% pass!!! They couldn't believe we are allowed to shoot at night with a lamp, a sound moderator and semi-auto, all of which are banned over there. We are very lucky in this country. Mark. stirky
Good luck with the eider duck mark, keep us posted. Can you shoot with lead over there or will have to be steel or another nontox ?
Hubertus
What is a SGC? @M Robson: i just watched the pics you have in your signature. Some really good ones. How have you made that picture show. Would like to do the same. Hubertus
Hunter
SGC stands for Shotgun Certificate
M ROBSON
Stirky, They have to use non-toxic shot for everything over there, even Pigeons!!! Hubertus, I have a pro account with Flickr.com, you just need to click on "organise" and then view your photos as a slideshow. When the slideshow starts copy and paste the URL as a link. Cheers, Mark.

I would like everyone to post their scores as it is impossible to trawl through each thread on here. They were scottish birds so they could count. Actually birds posted by members count regardless of where they were shot. Maybe I need to differentiate "foriegn birds" maybe not?

nbd1
Mark, having lived in DK for many years and held a Danish SGC i didnt believe the test to be so hard you had to be able to recognise birds in silhouette and general handling but you can resit it until you pass, I personally wouldnt object if they brought in something simular in the UK.
