Well the way i see NOBs is it gets lots of new people into the sport at the bottom end ie beating I know of many who had there first year beating last year and some of those then applied for SGC which is all good for our sport. As for money £5 isnt a lot...... 2pints often not even that anymore. I have enough beating and always have done but it is always worth investing in the future of our sport and it is a small amount to pay and despite what a few and it is a few say it does work. It is also strange how the ones doing all the moaning are still happy enough to use NOBs forum. It doesnt matter what forum one goes onto it seems to be the same people that get pleasure out of knocking NOBs if you havnt got anything positive to say why say anything. One thing i do know divided we will fail and shooting will follow hunting maybe not in my lifetime but certainly my kids will not get the pleasure from the sport that i have. Not all forums or organisations are for everyone that is our choice. I personally dont belong to BASC for my own reasons but i do not spend all day slagging them off. Neil

I have worked 2 undocked springers this year and will never do it again. One ended up having to have the tail docked very short because of infection and the other one the tail has been saved. Both dogs have had a terrible season suffering from infection even after resting them within an hour of going out there tails would be bleeding, I personally would try to find a vet that will do it now although it will be an opperation now rather than a sissor job. Vet bills dont ask but at the last count over £1000 Neil

The first one is always the most difficult, I have found the easiest way is to knock on the door when a field is being hit hard and offer your services. If the answer is no then leave a business card(these can be got from vista print for free. just keep the card simple name address) I have had farmers call me back in one case over a year later. I use a four legged folding stool bought in lidls for £2.99 they still haave a few but do sink in wet ground. neil

I dont know if this is true but i was told to go to one of these mobility places(the type that sell electric wheelchairs etc) and ask for batteries that had been exchanged for new apparently they work and you can pick them up for the price of a pint. i am sure there is someone on here that might know if its possable. I have managed to get three new areas in as many weeks, everytime it has been by seeing the farmer and asking, One was putting bird scarers out so i stoped and said do you need someone to shoot pigeons on here he said yes straight away although he has someone shooting on weekends. The other two took my card and have both contacted me one asking me to do a day for him and the other to check that i was intertested in mid week shooting. I have had many no's as well but i feel asking face to face is the way to go. Neil

As a business person myself I have total confidence in the products i sell and every so often customers try other products/brands from our competitors which is there right but i have enough belief that they will come back to us. Mr Beasley cannot expect everyone on this site to purchase from him and surely he can not be scared of a few other retailers being mentioned. If he is competitive with his prices and offers the best customer service then after trying other retailers people will realise that it is easier dealing with him. I like many others want the best products at the best price so that is the challenge to Mr Beasley can you supply us with those two things if so he should not have a problem with selling to people using this site.

Its your glow plugs 1 or more could be worn, lots of smoke even worse when its cold? you should be able to do them yourself, you can check them easily by taking them out one at a time and passing 12volt current through them if they warm up they are ok, if one or more doesnt warm up replace them all. When applying for a shotgun cert' you do not have to give a reason for wanting one the only thing that will be insisted on is that you have secure storage normally that will involve a gun cabinet at around £100. You need someone to endorse a photo and application form. After that i agree with the post above it doesnt have to be 1000s of clays a couple of hours with a good coach will do it for most people. He needs a European Gun Permit, when he gets that he has to send it over to you, You then send it to Firearms dept who endorse it. It then gets sent back to DK they can then bring in there gun without any problems. There is no charge for the endorsement. If you phone your firearms dept they will explain this to you Neil
