i`ve looked into all this bigger shot size . after having this argument with my mate we ended up cutting up 2 cartridges . we compaired rc sipe in shot size 5 and a gamebore black gold in a number 5 and we could see no visable difference in them ? i was kind of thinking that rc may have started using standard size shot ? :yp:

in reply to the phesant question i would say the RC in a number 4 would be a good hard hitting cartridge :good:

# shot per oz would give you a better answer. its better to weigh the shot on a scale and count the pellets until the scale reads 1oz.

some continental cartridges, are "often misleading" there have been several reviews in magazines. where they cut open shells and analyse them.

a few ("continental") loads didnt have the right shotsize, or shot load. only a few came close to the advertised speed.

i do think the italian shotsizes are bigger.

however, your loads should be dynamite on and driven phes.
