eddoakley
Anyone here have any first hand experience of Midland semi autos? Have a chance to buy some quite cheaply but know nothing about them They look fine, in synthetic or wood, come with full set of chokes and are steel proofed as you would expect. I rekon they have to be at least on a par with a hatstand but would appreciate any info and reviews. 12g and 20g. Thanks in advance Edd

eddoakley
Hi HDAV, yeah I got your pm. Thanks for that. I am surprised that nobody here has one of these guns though Think I will take a chance and see what they are like. Surely nobody really makes a bad gun these days? Hatsans are slagged off a fair bit but are still popular, they are what they are. Cheap and cheerful and these Midlands are even cheaper!!! Would still apreciate any further info though. Cheers Edd

Dustem Dave
I,ve had various semi's over the years and still have an AL 391 berretta, I bought a midland 8 shot auto on fac 2 years ago and it's the only auto thats never jammed (NOT ONCE) i,ve hardly ever cleaned it,i use it mainley for crows so chuck any old carts through it and i mean anything, though i ain't tried anything less 28 gram .ON the other hand my berreta is looked after and cleaned and still lets me down now and then so i'd say go for it, probably quarter of the price of a berreta aswell. I only keep my berreta cause can't use the fac in all circumstances.

fuzrat
"Surely nobody really makes a bad gun these days?" Was talking to my local dealer the other day and he was saying a couple of years back a "turkish manufacturer" (wouldnt tell me who but said was not Hatsan)sent him 2 guns for evaluation. No proof marks to be seen which rang alarm bells. Gave them to his gunsmith for a look who sent them on to the proof house. they would not only not reach minimum standards but would fail miserably  Anecdotal I know but makes you wonder Note, Dealer reported to manufacturer and proof issues have been rectified, not wanting to start a chinese whisper campaign about Turkish guns Fuzrat

Safety has to be assured when buying a new gun so that just leaves issues of reliability/finish/service...Who would people stay away from? Edd Seeing as i said i hardly clean it, i just did, it was stinking inside but still didn,t let me down last sunday when i put 50 plus shots through it,it says it's magnum profed 76mm,i can,t really find any fault it there's no way my berretta would have worked in that state!
