jonno 357
Just got back from decoying Weather was very windy and it started to snow. I I arrived at the fireld there was a few pigeons feeding. Set out 36 shell, 10 full bodied and a pigeon magnet in the usual horse shoe pattern. As I was setting up there was a hell of a lot of activity which was encouraging. The flight line looked good and with in 10 minutes and a pot of tea several small groups of pigeons passed straight over the pattern. This happened 3 or 4 times ? Strange not one of them dropping down for a nosey. Slight alterations to the pattern, shifted the pigeon magnet to the rear of the pattern. Anoher wait and bingo they started dropping into the pattern After I packed up and started heading home I notice a freshly drill field. Guess where all the pigeons were feeding today ? Bloody hundreds of them Grand total of 16 pigeons for half a days decoying Jonno

Catamong
That happened to me one day - I set up on the rape and couldn't work out why all of the birds were dropping in on the "ploughed" field behind me, so I went to have a look, and the "ploughed" field turned out to have been sown with spring beans, so I quickly moved all of my gear, and finished the day with 84 birds. That reinforced the value of doing a good recce the day before you intend to go to find out EXACTLY where they're feeding. Also, speak to the farmer..!! Cat. I think the weather has changed over the last few weeks and the pigeons have started to flock and are feeding more If you drive past Pontefract Race course Mark on the M62. Have a quick peep over into the OSR fields. They are feeding in the hundred in the field nearest to the motorway. Why ? Don't know, they must like that field more than others  Jonno

DaveK
It's like that all the way down the M62 from Normanton to Gildersome pretty much every day at the moment, both early morning and late afternoon. If it's any use on the way home tonight I came off the 62, along Normaton bypass and turned up to Snydale around 4:00-4.30pm. There must have been a couple of hundred flocked round the Snydale area and at the top of the dual carriageway from the 62 towards Featherstone there is a field diagonally to the right of the top roundabout that was crawling with the *******. So if any of you have fields round that area you're quids in for the weekend. Dave
markbivvy
traffic news on the radio in the morning will be.
