pegleg31
If it's a large house building firm stay well clear, if however it's a small developer good luck Large scale developers pay next to nothing to have houses built.I walked from a site a month or two ago as it was insulting what they wanted you to do for your money.joinery wise to do the 1st and 2nd fix including the kitchen a house was worth £900/£950.The 2nd fix included 8 doors all the skirting, architaves and the hand rail and spindles. All that for £310 which meant 2 of you had to get it done in the day .The first fix price was slightly less .To make matters worse you have to supply your own fixings (you get £50 per house ) so you use the least amount possible and when it comes to work you cut as many corners as possible while trying to make it look right. The NHBC and the like is a load of rubbish and personally not worth the paper it's wriiten on when it comes to the larger sites. On smaller sites they make smaller developers jump through hoops but the larger ones seem to get away with loads. i'm sure someone will disagree with what i'm saying but i'd never buy a house from a large developer, i've seen how they're thrown up
