Cal
I hope this poll will make my mind up . Which one do you all own? The most important of all, which is less effected by wind? Is the 17hmr more accurate at longer ranges then the magnum? Thanks for your vote and any info on this subject.
badsworth
Your question is what do we own - not which is best! How will you interpret the answers? B
SNAKEBITE
Rumour has it the 40 grain .22 is less affected by wind than the 17 grain .17HMR Can't answer the poll as I own neither.
henry d
as the .22 has a larger length to cross sectional ratio it should be less effected by cross winds IMO
Dead-Eyed Duck
I had a 0.17 Rem centrefire. Fabulous round, but it was affected by a high wind. I ended up going back to a 0.223. Do I shoot more foxes with the 0.223 - probably not. I think that it's all a matter of confidence. I do intend to buy a 0.17HMR once I can cobble together the funds, as I have convinced myself that I need one, I deserve one, and none of my mates have a 0.17HMR...... Oh, and the wife has just bought herself a new frock. Don
