Gordon R
I have seen advice on this before, but can't find it now. I am fitting a new recoil pad to my Miroku, which only needs minor fitting, but I have never been happy with my previous attempts. I have never managed the professional smooth finish. What is the secret?
seb
I have had good results with a belt linisher fitted with a fine belt. The two I did came out smooth. Seb
vampire
Never fitted a recoil pad,but if it was me i would fit the pad and score with a new blade all way round, then use the belt sander fixed in a bench and offer the pad to it and feed it round till it touches line, this way you can keep it steady and on the existing angle,or just take it to a joinery shop. BlaserF3
Hello Gordon, If it's a kickezee for the final finish I use very fine wet and dry using WD40 as the lubricant, but go easy with the WD as it dissolves rubber. If you have fitted a hard rubber pad, wipe the edges with paraffin, heat a knife blade to cherry red, then smooth the rubber using the blade like a palette knife. Have you forgotten about Larry Potterfield?
