Recoil rubber

Never fitted a recoil pad,but if it was me i would fit the pad and score with a new blade all way round,then use the belt sander fixed in a bench and offer the pad to it and feed it round till it touches line,this way you can keep it steady and on the existing angle,or just take it to a joinery shop.

Hello Gordon,

 

If it's a kickezee for the final finish I use very fine wet and dry using WD40 as the lubricant, but go easy with the WD as it dissolves rubber.

 

If you have fitted a hard rubber pad, wipe the edges with paraffin, heat a knife blade to cherry red, then smooth the rubber using the blade like a palette knife.
