Sniper-Blend
If you plan on going hunting with them then i suggest you only use them on very close range quarry i.e rats, birds. Not suiatble for anything like rabbits though
woodyfirst
Are they the same as Matchpells?
Hunter
Yes, but Vermin pell are the .22 ones.. seeing as they dont use .22 in match shooting.. other then HFT
woodyfirst
Ah right, must have changed their name then, cos I've got a tin of .22 MatchPells sat in front of me right now, bought a load in bulk a while back. Good pellets, as are all the crossmans. I tend to use the flat heads on rats mainly, but the shape of the pellet is irrelevant if the shot is well placed! Hunter
Well at range, the flat heads (or old match pells) wont have enough power to get a clean kill, that combined with poor penetration and you will have an injured bunny :o 15 yards max, head shots only with the .22's... .177, youl have a longer range with these, as they are less effected by air resistance, and fly faster then the .22's, but again, keep it to 20 yards, heads only
Sniper-Blend
I wouldnt say 20 yards with bunnys!! i shot one at 20 yards with those not long ago and all i got was an injured bunny and that was a head shot so i had to quicky go over and give it a close range head shot to finish it off, not good so i now limit those to close range rats and birds, 15 yards max for me as i dont wonna be injuring them if i can help it
beatingisbest
you might as well use dome heads or pointed then

Hunter
Dome heads, or Diabolo pellets dont tend to get that much damage at 12ftlb. If you have a look in the Craft and DIY section, theres a topic there with pictures of a pellet I shot a squirrel in the brain box with at less then 15 meters, and barely has any dents, even after passing through the skull. The waist of the pellet was untouched, and you can still see the rifle marks in it. Thats a Webly pellet Edited March 1, 2006 by Hunter
king ratcatcher
Virmin pell were made for close range shooting (15-20yards) i have used them sucsesfully in my bsa lightning, and ratcatcher. But as they say, a rabbits head is weak at the wright point. Now for when i go rabbiting, i use daystate ft (round head) and find they are good.
