Foxing tonight

Hi all i got a phone call today off a mate who's a greenkeeper at one of the golf courses local to me. He'd given my number to the owner as they had a problem with rabbits destroying the bunkers. About an hour later the owner gave me a ring and explained the problem. We had a chat for about 20 minutes and in the end he said i could come and go as i pleased and that if i saw any foxes about i could shoot them aswell. He also said i could have the use of a golf buggy if i fancied it :good: . I told him that i'd go up there tonight and see whats about with my mate that works there so he could show me around.

We got to the course at 6, got a coffee out the club house and started getting everything ready. We set off about 6.30 and within 5 mins saw a fox sitting in a bunker about 50 yards away, lamp off and get the gun ready. Lamp back on and the fox was still just sitting there looking at us. This golf course has never been lamped before so the fox didnt care less aboout the lamp, crosshairs on the foxes head and down it went. It was a nice sized dog fox but it had been suffering from mange as you can see from its tail.

As we carried on round we added 3 more foxes to the bag. A big dog fox and a vixen. We didnt retrieve one of the foxes as it fell into a deep ditch. They were all shot the same as the first one. They really havent seen a lamp before and we drove right up to them, using the buggy made it so much easier and quicker. They were all shot within 60 yards. We hardly saw any rabbits but managed to get 1 to bring home for the freezer.
