KDR Posted February 5, 2011 Report Share Posted February 5, 2011 Just thought i'd share me and my sons day with you all in a few photo's.. We'd been going to this farm for the last couple of Saturdays without much success, but on the way home last week we checked out this field and saw a few rabbits knocking about and a few pigeons in the trees you can see behind the hide... As you can see we put up a few lofters, this is the first time we'd done this but after reading a few posts on the site we did it with fishing line and the catty with a fishing bomb as a weight, i'd like to say it was dead easy but id be lying and i did loose my rag a couple of times as the line got tangled as we tried to fire it over, but we got there in the end. we set a magnet up about 15yds out to the left and a pattern to the right of it.. The lad tried the hide for size, then we sat and waited..as you do I wish i could say they came flocking in from all directions, but they just didnt we had a couple of chances each but the escort decided that today it just wasn't going to cycle the cartridges when we really needed it to...i dont know why because on previous outing it had generally been good, i have fell out with it a bit today because of that...i hate it when things dont work as they should. Any way the pigeons wernt playing as they should have been but luckily a couple of rabbits decided they would help us pass the time and we gladly dispatched them with a couple of nice shots...one of them from the lad which was nice... We did manage to fool another pigeon or 2 to come close enough but only managed to drop one of them...all in all a very wet, but very enjoyable day as you can see from the lads face...
