gaz-loc
Hey folks. Looking for a fixed magnification scope for 222. Iv seen nikko stirling do 8-56 nighteater at really cheap price. Question I'm asking is are nikko stirling scopes REALLY what they claim themselves to be? Cheers
Loki
Hiya I have had a N-Sterling Diamond 3-9x44 on my M595 in the same flavour - some 5+ yerars old but haven't found any problems/issues with it. Whenever I consider changing it why fix some that has and does work very well (for me). Not sure about the newer versions of these - i'm sure others can clarify. In my opinion 56mm objectives will always put the scope higher up from the bore with the potential issues for aligning the head/cheek on the stock....... gaz-loc
Cheers for the reply. Yeah reason I'm thinking 56 is because I'll be shooting with it in low light levels
jamie g
Cheers for the reply. Yeah reason I'm thinking 56 is because I'll be shooting with it in low light levels mate the 56 wont really off anymore then a 50 mm fron lens will. like the guy above said a 56 front lens can offer problems with gettign good scope view inless you have a adjustble cheek pieve on your stock. have a look at a bushnell 5x15x50 nice little scvope good glass. sit nice ontop of a 222 Edited February 18, 2011 by jamie g
Norrie
Hiya, I've got a Lisenfield 6 x 42 on my CZ .222, It's a great scope,at least thats what i'm told.. but I'm not too taken with it as it seems a tad small (for me at least)...I was thinking about moving up to a 56mm as well... I've had a few Nikko Stirlings on other guns ,in various sizes and cant fault them...decent quality for what you pay.... I did have a look at the one you are thinking of, and might well end up with one..
Evil Elvis
Ive got a ziess 8x56 on mine but an s&b 8x56 is just as good....if you can afford one of the above then do.....youlll only throw money at a cheaper scope and end up buying a better one anyway!!!! you can get a good second hand s&b for £
Davy Holt
Hiya, mate the 56 wont really off anymore then a 50 mm fron lens will. like the guy above said a 56 front lens can offer problems with gettign good scope view inless you have a adjustble cheek pieve on your stock. have a look at a bushnell 5x15x50 nice little scvope good glass. sit nice ontop of a 222 I've just replaced my scope on the .222 with a Bushnell 6-18 x 50, it certainly looks the part and cant wait to get out to try it this afternoon.. even if I have to use a bloomin rod to knock out the cases as the case extractor broke last night :(
