bullet boy
I feel so sad today to have heard the news about the Christchurch Earthquake. Many lives lost and countless missing! I was in Christchurch this time 3 years ago.Christchurch is a beautiful city and I met so many lovely and wonderful people there-I just hope there are ok. My thoughts and prayers go out to the people that have lost loved ones.
UKPoacher
Two of our best friends are out there. I got an e-mail from them yesterday morning to say they had arrived at Christchurch to do some sight seeing before flying home on the 23rd. I haven't heard from them today and am very worried. They would have been out visiting museums and galleries in the city centre when it struck.
FalconFN
Hope they're ok. We have a friend out there who was in the church that was destroyed, she ran out during the quake and seconds later it collapsed.

jacksdad
Its certainly bad over there, the only consolation is that only a tiny percentage of the population have been lost, plus everyone on earth is trying to contact the town, so all comms are probably overloaded. UKPoacher
Received a text message from Michael and Eric this morning: They have been evacuated to Wellington having lost everything in the quake. The hotel is totally destroyed. They are now waiting for replacement passports in order to fly back home.

UKPoacher
Thank goodness they are okay Thanks. We've sent a message asking if they need cash by money transfer. We are not sure if they still have their credit cards or not.
