I popped up the farm today & there were loads of swallows arounf I managed to get a few pics there a bit grainy but better than I expected

last Nov is the last time i saw a stag up here, well theres one up here now & what a beauty his is , just a few pics from the last few weeks , I hope you enjoy looking at them as much as I enjoy taking them taken in driving rain calf still suckling

wont start a new thread but i wanted to add a few church pics I took on sunday ..I am trying to get to grips with thinking in black & white :unsure: well i cant do it I am a full colour lass so its been edited to look B& w

i have an aunt who lives in Christchurch & its destroyed her house .. as her garage was in the side off a hill effectively underground it saved her life as thats where she was filling re cycling bins ready for collection her daughter managed to get to her yesterday but there short on fuel as its been limited for emergency usage havent heard anything else since yesterday ..

I had a print done of one of my pics arrive yesterday i chose 20x30 inch & its on fantastic quality paper .. I ordered from boots online but its been developed by photobox .. delivered in a tube & wrapped in tissue paper.. excellent service & quality

All i did with that image was increase the saturation then turn it black & white with a red filter in picasa then again in picasa i fiddled with the shadow & highlight sliders far less complicated than using paintshop or similar

I took all the pics in colour & used picasa to change to black & white the penultimate pic was simply captured like that because the dog was under my feet & i knew if i moved he would move .. so i just slightly managed to zoom out to just get his right ear in & i clicked & hoped for the best .. the focus was luck if i am honest

I had a walk up to the farm again today & took a few pics.. maybe not to everyones taste but an enjoyable morning all the same

The camera i use is a canon 1000D with a canon 55/250 lens on it .. i use the auto for this kind of pic by the time you have fiddled setting it up on manual the dogs over the other side of the field But i can try to set the camera up copying the data from one of the pics of the dog running & try it on manual just as an experiment Having the extra light from the snow helped enormously the shutter was going like a machine gun rather than chugging
