Lancs Lad
Can recomend the follwoing 1 Carp Unhooking mat. 1 rather expensive Carp Landing Net. 1 Carp Weighing Sling 1 Carp Sack 1 Boilie Drying Sack. In all, about 240 quid worth of gear that one of the little ******* has chewed thru after finding one of them in my shed........ Thankfuly they didnt get a liking for my large inflatable "carp boat". Alternatively, I have heard that "SOAP" is a good bait for mice, one of my lads claims to have had 8 in 1 hour using soap on the trap... Riothedog
Peanut butter on your trap works a treat. Nuts they can pull off and they don't smell as good as peanut butter. RTD

ChrisNicholls
Peanut butter, as already mentioned is a superb bait, on a par with chocolate. Chocolate is my first choice trap bait, the little **** can't resist it.
bindi
for mice you are better sticking to mouse traps, thry like chocolate. Alternatively mouse/rat poison got my garage clear, but you have to make sure its out of the way of pet cats/dogs (obvious stuff but people have forgotten this in the past) The latter is my preferred as the little blighters are crafty when it comes to the little nipper mousetraps. bindi
palombier
They are the most destructive things around, having chewed their way through 4 expensive fly lines so far not to mention other stuff. All the baits mentioned are good but if you haven't got peanut butter or chocolate I find that butter is excellent and I'm sure there's no shortage of that. Just move the traps round from time to time. Regards all P
whitelegghw77k
Use a small piece of wire/metal coathanger and melt a block of chocolate on to it. Stick it in the freezer to cool. Then smear peanut butter over this. Then wire the bait to the trap. I lost too many pieces of chocolate before I tied it on! Pete
Nildes
Mice are serial feeders as well as cereal feeders. they dont fill themselves up at one place. S you need to temp them with different things at different places. Peanut butter (smooth) or chocolate spread is probably the best stuff. If you buy a dozen breakbacks, put a small amount of paste on each and then put them bait-side to the wall floor junction at yard intervals, you should get them. Put some rubber gloves on 'cos the smell of your hands will make them avoid them for a while. If you really want to eliminate them, get some poison from the DIY store. Products containing broudifacoum are very good. Just follow the instructions on the box.

sussex
Found it ! it was on another Forum best squirrel trap ever for 99p! Buy a 360 degree flip lid bin - the type that opens inwards from either edge. Stand next to it a bench/bin/trestle table at the same height. put peanuts on the trestle and superglue some to the top of the bin lid. This also works for mice, rats etc. Put a big rock in the bottom of the bin to stop it getting toppled. Get down to the pound shop!

leeboy
I have to control mice everyday as part of my job. I've had the most success using chocolate as bait in traps. works like a charm, mice love it. marmite for rats. if you are considering using poison then sorexa CD wipes the floor with most others I've used. However I dont know if you can buy it in small quantities. Most poisons work pretty well in areas that have not been baited before. regards Leeboy
