The lower picture are similar to poles sold on eBay by a guy called discount-decoys_uk They are absolute rubbish and he isn't a very nice guy either. Unfortunately he also supplies many other sellers. Basically, if the poles are green all over and with that type of tread plate shown in the photo give them a wide berth unless they guarantee that they are solid point.

 

Can't speak for the other type.

cheers uk poacher,one ov my mates had a set ov them and he said he had to pour a bit melted led down them so that thay wouldnt bend at the bottoms..........

Top ones are the strongest as the foot spike is inserted in to the pole,also the spike is fluted for better grip.

the first set are very good in fact got mine off paul at the basc gamefair 2 years ago and not had a problem with them well apart from losing one of them;buts thats my fault obviously..best set of poles i have had.

I got the top ones at last years cla game fair, not great, the plastic ***** for tightning them break very easily and the poles are starting to bend at the bottom.

 

I personally wouldnt reccomend them.

mine are slightly bent at the bottom but still usable and the top pole still slides all the way down haven;t broke a thumbscrew either and they have had a lot of use.also just warning about cheaper poles i know someone who bought them and i was decoying with him 2 broke in normal use.
