new to the flock
This is my favourite tying site. Follow the links. If you see a fly you want to tie click on its name. http://sfotf.com/main/Series_VII_Flies.42.0.html http://sfotf.com/main/Series_VIII_Flies.54.0.html http://sfotf.com/main/Series_IX_Flies.67.0.html http://sfotf.com/main/Series_X__NEW.137.0.html http://sfotf.com/main/Other_Flies.79.0.html
Dunkield
I used to tie loads of flies, nymphs mainly, I never got into the real hard stuff. There is something deeply satisfying about catching on your own tied fly when all around are struggling Not sure my eyes would focus for a size 20 hook these days though :*)

Dunkield
This is mainly what I will be using tomorrow These are pretty popular over here, very simple but very slim as you can see - so they sink quickly. Tied on a nice big size 10 buzzer hook

old rooster
or if I get really desperate You call that desperate, I never go without a tin of worms in my pocket :*) Where you goin trouting this time of year then Stuart ? I've tied up a load of epoxy buzzers on heavy and light hooks this winter and look forward to trying them. Never did get on buzzer fishing though, back end when they are fry bashing I usually get on better. Will have a go at Pitsford and Draycote. Dunkield
Where you goin trouting this time of year then Stuart ? I went to small stillwater near Reading, one of the better ones, not a muddy little hole like some of them  It was a bit cold but I just couldn't keep on waiting to get out there. I went as far away from everyone else as possible (normally works for me) and cast into to the teeth of the wind, which is hard going as I aonly use a 4 weight outfit for those sort of waters. Floating line, long leader and a Blakestones Buzzer on a size 12, and couldn't stop catching them - luckily all but 2 got off Of those big ones, I fished Pitsford a long time ago, and Eyebrook a couple of years back that is great reservoir if/when it all come togther Sorry to any non fishers that must read like double-dutch!
