bennyblanco
I went lightforce 170 but would probably have gone with the deben pro max if I could choose again.
Luckyshot
Got to be Lightforce, some people have had problems with the wiring but I have 4 of these lamps and I've never had a bit of bother with the wiring on any of them. I've changed the cigarette lighter end on one of them to crocodile clips for ease of use thats all.
Bowen20
I've got a lightforce sl170 with variable brightness was £130.00 the non variable is cheaper thow and I too changed the end for debens square connectors and put them all on my batteries so I could just switch and change no messing also the battery I have is the one I use for my rotary it lasts around 4 hours and it's 3 years old and never had 1 problem with it or the lamp if you do get a lightforce there is loads of spare parts for them if you should ever want to replace owt. And battery is a 12v 17ah and they are £28.00 delivered from www.batterymasters.co.uk

Dekers
The best overall package will almost certainly be the Deben Pro Max, this includes EVERYTHING you need and some even throw in a filter as well. Lamp, DIMMER swith, scope fitment, battery, belt pack, charger, cigarette lighter adapter.. is that it or did I forget something? Deben rate it a 400yard beam, whatever, it is more than adequate for a HMR, I use it on my centrefires. There are brighter lamps (not sure of the definition of better here) but remember this is a complete package, you don't need anything else, be careful to compare like with like...oh yes.....shop around and twist some arms and it can be yours for just over £100, the whole package, you will not find anything else to compare with that! ATB!

I haven't had 4 lamps, I have 4 lamps 140 hand held used by my lamp man to retrieve the shot quarry (when jumping out the landy) as its light and small to carry, 240 Blitz used for the odd occasion that we have to walk and not drive the land, 170 scope mounted for when Im by myself which isn't very often and lastly another 170 roof mounted ontop of the Defender, each one is used for its own job.
