I was out today testing a new scope on the RabbitStopper today, after fine tuning the internals properly, and giving everything a good clean.

Here she is ready to go

Went for a small walk, once again I couldnt hit 2 rabbits with it.. its the same every time, I can only get squirrels with it. I think its name should be changed ;)

This female squirrel has been around my place for a longgg time, and has been very difficult to hunt down. It has taken me 3 years to finally pull it down, and is the last squirrel in the top woods of our house. (we have 2, one above and one larger bellow our house)

So I have more or less wiped out all the squirrels from that section this year and last (16 squirrels)

The one is my number 50 squirrel taken by airgun with a good head shot fairly high in a tree. She wasnt moving when she finaly hit the ground. Im sure she was about to produce a litter of 4-5 new squirrels as she was pretty heavy and felt very full.

Scope seems to work well now, but the Co2 consumption is terrible in the cold winter.. bring on summer

Hunter sees a new bait feeder project comming up..

I have a virtually infinate amount of squirrels to shoot in my forest, less then 50 meters from my house the forest starts. Its mostly beech and chesnut.. the squirrels eat the beech saplings as theri main diet in spring. There are litlery hundreds of them nibbling away in th trees ovove, even if you see them and they see you, they carry on eating as they are so amused by the food. Hopfully if the shotgun certificate clears, a nice 20 bore and some '5's will bring lots of squirrel this year.

Thanks Frank!

Im thinking of investing in a good new airgun and selling the others. The rabbit stopper is lovley for squirrels as its so light. Nice and easy to aim up. But its a real fiddle, requires lots of care, adjusting and tweaking it does get a little hard sometimes. I think I will by the Webly Raider .22 back off my dad, give it a good clean up and get it going.. I have never used such an accurate airgun, but since I sold it I havent had enough money for something good, so I have made do with this fully customized rabbit stopper, but it has dropped a squirrel on almost every stalk!

I still spend half of Sunday every week keeping the gun working to its max. Accuracy isnt too bad. The main reason I stick with it is I can walk around with it all day without busting the arms, and it is very silent even the squirrels struggle to pinpoint the location sometimes ;) They run around my side of the tree thinking the noise was from another location, only to get popped
