ste12b
In which case you will need to send them a form stating gun make, model, serial number and sgc numbers for you both. They usually send you copies of the forms when you get your SGC. If in doubt ring your FEO as you will need the other persons details. Bleeh
I had a HUGE ho-har over a gun that I had sold, but the police never changed it's details on the database, as the Gun was sent to Scotland. I (very fortunately) managed to get in contact with the chap who bought it via email, and he was very helpful in straightening everything out. I'd be a happy man if I didn't have to go though the whole experience again, so trust me, it's really worth just sending it off recorded delivery and being sure. *edit* - If your completely new to this, you need to fill in a form (Blank ones can be found Here, under 'Sale or purchase form' PDF on the right) and send it off to the police within 7 days. markm
Nothumbria defno take emails as confirmation on shotguns, give them all the info as you would normally and add a line on the end saying, please can you reply to acknowledge reciept of this email. Done nothing else for 5 years and had no probs, just print their reply out and put in a shoot folder or keep in your inbox. Edit - the name of the person and details of who replies is in their signature so you have evidence, you need nothing else.
