There will be a CPSA English Sporting Referees course held at Machester Clay Shooting Club (Worsley) on Wednesday 27th April 2011.

The course is open to all current CPSA members and will cost £65 including theory and practical sessions as well as refreshments and lunch.

Anyone interested in taking part can do so by contacting Clare Alger on either (01483) 485412 or via clare@cpsa.co.uk

I've booked on now, I would encourage anyone else thinking about it to get signed up ASAP to make sure we have the numbers to run the course.

Worsley will need refs for the registered shoots this coming year.

It's also an ideal way of earning a couple of extra quid, and or paying for registered events.

Likewise next time some spotty faced youth\student calls pair away, you can point to your ref's badge, and say pair dead ! :P

I've just been in touch with the CPSA and we have almost reached the required amount to run the course !

There are still a few places available, so if your thinking about attending the course, pull your finger out and get signed up.

Great, :good: theres still plenty of places if anyone else is interested, don't be shy ! :)

What about MR Potter ? I seem to remember he was interested.

You're quite right Ian, I was interested but on reflection I don't think I would end up putting a refs qualification to any use. following on from Azzurri's comments on another thread, I will put the money saved toward fuel to get to shoots, at today's prices that should get me approx 256 miles (round trip), so a shooting ground 128 miles away, not quite enough to get home from the North v South Charity Shoot.

No brainer really.

Fair comment Mr Potter, you could look at it from another point of view if you were to do 2 days ref'in it would pay for the course and leave enough in your pocket for a 100 carts.

Or you could ref in the morning and shoot a comp for free in the afternoon, I know David Lloyd had this agreement last year with the ref'ed ESP events, I believe Nicky took advantage of this and I think also your son ? and Iam sure other grounds would offer a similar arrangements.

Qualified CPSA refs will always be in demand so even if you used the qualification once in a blue moon you could\would certainly add a few miles to your tank :)

Anywho's it would be a nice father son bonding day out for you both :)
