ossett_hunter
Hi I have just got my fac and shotgun licences. I have just collected my late dads guns. On inspection one of the shotguns has what id call mold or water markes on the forend in and around the checkering. How do I remove it as not to cause further damage. Thanks ossett_hunter Edited May 1, 2011 by ossett_hunter

Paul T
What oil do you suggest Walnut preferably, but you can use any oil that's suitable for use on timber. I bought a small bottle of walnut off fleabay for a couple of quid. As mentioned above, don't use anything mineral based and meant for lubricating/protecting metal parts e.g. WD40, 3in1 etc. Yes, it soaks in but it softens the timber over time. Cheers Paul
