djgeoff
over the holiday break i had to go to mid Wales to my dads grave and i took my gun with me to try a bit of clay shooting somewhere else. i found a place called Dovey valley shooting ground, about 7 miles Welsh-pool side of Machynelleth. Fantastic place and owners were really good,i was running late due to traffic and a rang ahead and they stayed open until i arrived. The chaps name that took me round was Rod really nice guy most helpful. I had to laugh at one stand as he explained that a clay would come as a driven from over that hill! i said you mean that mountain (it was that dam high), when the clay did appear it looked like a midi but in fact it was a full size clay, i said you don't expect me to hit that do ya?......... to my surprise i did. So if anyone wishes to go there i can recommend it, i had a 60 bird sporting and an ABT £21. I left my mother with the camera but she was not to good with it so i only have two pictures for you, one is of rod its may be worth a peak at their web site ... Google dovey valley you should find it ok

Barney86
Fantastic place, easily my favourite ground. I used to shoot there when at Aberystwyth Uni. When you next go, ask to shoot "the bitch in the ditch" aka ducks down the valley (up behind the shooting lodge) - simo pair of crossers (ish) coming down a small valley like **** off a shovel, about 10 yards in front of you. Great fun. Edited May 4, 2011 by Barney86
