ellebarto
On the verge of buying a BSA Ultra Tactical and reading the Gunmart reviews it seems the supplied SAS moderator is a bit week. I'm not big into my air rifles. Can anyone recommend me somehting that might be a better choice for this rifle?
FalconFN
Yes the stubby one that comes as standard is useless, a Weihrauch HW silencer is probably one of the best off the shelf silencers and it will make the rifle almost silent but quite a bit longer. A Sak mod is smaller and work ok but avoid Parker Hale as they are long AND loud. Logun make good mods as well but I've never used one so can't be more definite. oscarsdad
Mine has a wiehraich fitted and you can barely hear it...yes it makes the rifle longer but also makes it look more balanced at that length I think
lineshooter
I have a Hw one on mine and as above really, have a look here www.bsaog.co.uk and see what everyone else is using.

Ah now that is a good site for this rifle! I can see a regulator is 2nd on my list of mods!

ellebarto
Expensive though. People who have had it done are claiming an increase from 35 to 50 shots per fill to close to 100 with far more consistency for each shot. Now that sounds like money well spent, unless I've missread that! vERY NEW TO pcp Air riles!

lineshooter
A regulator will give you shot to shot consistancy, I would say that shot count is the only draw back of the Ultra. I get about 30 usable shots before I have to top up the air, not such a problem if you are hunting but when plinking with a multishot thats only three mags worth, so a bit of a pain. Other than that, a great gun for the money. Edited May 6, 2011 by lineshooter
