Marc M
Took a mooch over to the driving range again this evening with my good friend Andy (Carcharadon) to see what we could see. The session started off perfectly having walked 3/4 up towards the back of the range, hidden in one of the many course bunkersI quickly scanned the back wall to the compound and there, 40 yards directly ahead was a coney. I was already prone so the shot was automatic, 5 minutes into the night and it was already one shot for one kill. Could this be the night I've been waiting for??? Quick answer, NO! An hour went by without even a hint of another rabbit, eventually I took a wander down to the entrance and scanned the car park where 4 pairs of glinting eyes gret me. Selecting the best target in terms of distance and angle to me I was soon on two shots, two kills with another cleanly headshot future curry meat-stuff. Then the rain came, and the rabbits went home. Not the most prolific of nights, but definitely very enjoyable, there really is something therapeutic about being holed up alongside a muddy rut (or in this case the steep banks of a golf bunker), laid on your back just staring up at the night sky, waiting, just waiting. Here's a couple of pics of the spoils, both of which will be making their way into a curry I'll make tomorow, that is if I can prise them away from Kenzo, my black lab! She's not stopped sniffing me, then the game bag, then me, back to the bag since I got home!

Marc M
what type of gun were you using?? My trusty .22 HW100T 12ft'lb air rifle with WTC 3.5-10x50 and Nite Hunter Supa-Lite lamp (by far and away the most impressive airgun lamp I have ever owned or used, perfect range, light and small and the battery pack attaches to the reverse of the cheek piece so no trailing wires). Marc M
it took you 3 knifes to skin a rabbit? What can I say, I have a knife fetish Thanks for the compliment though. I could have just used the Leatherman but my Gerber Gator is my favourite knife, so must be used even if only for ceremonial purposes, and that big butchers knife was as much use as a chocolate fireguard, it's blunter than a British Royal on tour in Africa...
