wymberley
What's happened, chaps? I've used various sizes over the years and have just had a shufti and they now seem to have an adjustable top to them, if indeed that's what it is. Any clues, anyone? Redgum
Not quite sure what your asking, the lee full sizing die has a nut at the top that secures the rod down the middle, this is so you can undo it to release a stuck case/clean. The neck sizing die has a knurled top so you can take it apart to clean, any adjustment on both dies is done by the depth you set the dies in the press. Ps the factory crimp die is adjustable to the amount of crimp you give the case but once again it depends on the depth set in the press. I'll have another look - I was browsing The Sportsman's site, reloading dies, factory crimp and it seems to have an extra component at the top. Now wondering if the photo is wrongly titled. As said, I'll have another shufti. Cheers
phaedra1106
I have one and it looks exactly the same as the one on the Lee website, http://leeprecision.com/xcart/Factory-Crimp-Die/ Have a look at Henry Krank's, they are usually cheaper than Sportsman and have a flat rate £4 shipping charge which is a lot cheaper!. Or ... Titan reloading in the US will ship to the UK, not sure if it works out cheaper with import duty etc. but I use them for most of my Lee stuff and have saved a fortune, but I get it shipped to my friends in Florida and colect it while we're over there, or should I say here as that's where we are now!. http://www.titanreloading.com/ Edited May 8, 2011 by phaedra1106

Also some good stuff on you tube.
wymberley
Perhaps someone could Google The sportsman Gun Centre, reloading, reloading dies, the factory crimp is in the centre of the first 3 shown, and tell me that there's something odd. I'm pretty sure, contrary to the wife's opinion, that it's not me.
Redgum
see what you mean, I have never seen this die before,my factory crimp die looks totally differant, the only Lee die I have with any adjustment on the top is the bullet seating die. No doupt if its a new type it will have plenty of instruction.

phaedra1106
There's a load of videos on the Lee site to either watch or download, http://leeprecision.com/xcart/Help-Videos.html Also a better close up video of the Factory Crimp Die operation here,
Redgum
The one in the video is the same as my 243 lee crimp die, I think the ones on the sportsmans site with an extra bit on top are the large calibre ie 50 cal crimping dies.
phaedra1106
Sportsmans Pacesetter dies only show the full length sizing and bullet seating/roll crimp dies, the factory crimp die they show is the bullet seating/roll crimp die, the pictures are wrong. Best place to see the correct parts is on the Lee site. I find Sportsman to be too expensive to order anything from, same as MidwayUK, by the time you add the high shipping charges it's just not worth it. If I have buy stuff here in the UK I look at Henry Krank, usually cheaper and cheap shipping. As I do a couple of trips a year to Florida I just wait and get most things here, the factory crimp die for my .308 cost me less that half of Sportsmans and only about $2 shipping.
