hogey
If you like currys that you get from your local Indian may I recommend a book called the Curry Secret. Its about 4 quid and you can get it from Amazon. They turn out just like the restraunts or take aways.

Nial
Only one reply come on girls. Not proper from scratch recipies but have a look at Rafi's Spicebox... http://www.spicebox.co.uk/ One of our neighbours recommended them, I've tried four of their curry packs and they're better than any other curry I've ever cooked. If you presented any of them and said they were from a good Indian restaurant I'd have believed you. They're ~£4/curry pack and postage is pretty expensive so it's worth getting a few at a time. You have to keep them in the fridge or freeze them, I'd suggest splitting postage with a couple of friends to keep costs down. Nial.

pavman
I have found it best to knock up just about all the stuff and leave it in the fridge for at least 24hrs prior to cooking I only add the coconut milk whilst cooking (if its a mild curry for Mrs P taste) that way all the flav gets right into the meat
ziplex
If you fancy a chinese curry, search for 'lily kwok'............made one earlier then me, the mrs and the two brats polished it off, takes a fair bit of time but really worth it if you like 'em just like the local takeaway would make
