  1. Cracking night chaps. Congrats to huff huff (I think it was you anyway) for boning better than the rest, in 3 mins flat no less (feel free peeps lol!). Peltman I hope the fingers heal ok, billy you need professional help my friend! In all seriousness it was good to meet some of you all, only caught a few names though. Big thanks to nick for organising the evening, all the staff in the verulam arms for a cracking night but most importantly to Colin for showing us how its done, its incredible the things you pick up from watching a pro work so big thanks to you. The video is going to be a good one but I think the sound was playing up for the first 20 mins, but even so it will be one to watch.
  2. Just an update, Ive had a call to say all is now well! She has managed to get hold of two half pigs (not sure where from). No idea how two halfs will fit on the spit, but hey, shes happy! Once again many thanks to all, some cracking suggestions
  3. Big thanks to all, am looking at options now
  4. Bit of a random one but can anyone get a pig for a hog roast by tommorow? A good friend has been let down for her wedding on saterday, she has cooking stuff just needs the pig. Herts area but will travel if I must. You will be saving a damsel in distress and earn plenty of Karma points. Cheers
  5. Those sort of comments are what keep me hanging around. Pure poetry!
  6. Its twenty quid, suck it up man! You took a punt on a helmet and it didnt work out, They've still got overheads etc to shell out for so regardless of what the law says I reckon they are entitled to somthing
  7. Generous of him, dont forget to buy him a beer
  8. I have nothing to do all weekend. Absolutly nothing, nada, diddly squat. NOTHING. I love weekends like that, just go with the flow and do as I feel

    E-motion

Ive got a 26" E motion tv in the bedroom (dont know the model off hand but its got a dvd player and record funtion), bought it for about £150 a few months back to replace one I dropped moving and TBH it does the job to have on in the back ground as you doze off but to watch any sports or fast paced films would be torture, The picture just isnt good enough. If I was in the same position again I would keep the cash and get a Sony or Panasonic or somthing. Im not sure if the warrenty is worth much, these sort of brands seem to pop up being sold cheap by everyone then disapper off the face of the earth a year later.
  10. I will add a third agreement to that. Every pair ive had have gone in the same place, just below the fly split as far as the seam two inches below it. They are dead comfy though, and a bit of a cooling breeze in the summer is no bad thing.
  11. Yup,Rutland has the numbers but Grafhams the place for lumps! The first week of predator fishing normally throws up some nice fish. Normally the deep water round the tower and off the sailing club are the bankers for Zander, I look for at least 70ish foot (this is with Jigs though, not flys!)
  12. I knocked one on the head last time I did Rutland (the place is stuffed with them, 80 or 90 to a boat is pretty common to jigs) I cant say I was overly impressed with the flavour, It wasnt bad tasting, just bland really. Lots of people seem to love them though. Did you see Robs fising room? I have to get me one of those!
  13. I did wonder why you hadnt suggested the Avalon and its rainbow flagged signs to those chaps from Essex. But yeah if theres a space going without messing anyone about I'll take it, otherwise Ill just turn up for post butchery bevvies.
  14. Well, twenty odd quids fine but if the price involves me squealing like a pig or involves banjos of any description then im afraid im out
  15. Is there still a place left? I would be well up for this if there is. I can do whichever dates suit
  16. http://www.wsftackle.com/acatalog/32_abu_tormentor_jointed_floating.shtml http://www.wsftackle.com/acatalog/32_slither_turboblue_halo2.shtml Both on offer, 3 for two on the Abu's so they work out at £2.16 ea. http://www.agmdiscountfishing.co.uk/index.php Also some deals to be had here.
  17. Cracking job, I know pros who couldnt do better! One thing to remember is to try and get fresh quarried stone as older stone will have dried and be much harder to work.
  18. Is it just for Bass or doubling up for pike as well? I prefer a 10 foot rod off the rocks as it makes it a bit easier to keep the line off rocks as your playing the fish, but a shorter 8 foot rod is more managable if your really scrambling from one rock to the next and is also easier to cast all day. I picked up a masterline Tideline plugger rod from Tacklebargains for not a lot of cash and while it will cope with the average 20 odd gram lure its better with the larger heavier wedges and plugs. I used a old basher of a feeder reel for a year or so and it did the job very well. Also use a Spinflex rod (drennen I think?) for the small plugs and eels and its a joy to be on the rocks on a summer morning waiting for tide to be right with just that little rod, a pocket of plugs and a sense of anticipation. Just wished I lived closer to the sea Budget?
  19. London Colney mate, theyve been up and down the A414 more times than a brides nightie. Somthing happend on the A5 then?
  20. As the late great Biggie Smalls so eloquently put it "Business and family dont mix, like two d1cks and no b1tch you'll find yourself in serious ****"
  21. Yup, had a few strikes very close to us as well. I heard at least 4 fire engines within 5 mins of it starting, Id imagine on their way to crashes
  22. Ive got spiderwire stealth on one of my reels and reckon its pretty good, a lot softer than Fireline but stiffer than Whiplash so its a nice balance for me. To thin and soft and I get wind knots too stiff and the lure just lands at my feet.
  23. Ive always liked the Abu Tormentor (not the metal one though, they are ****) over the snaggy ground, the hooks are pretty soft so with a decent braid and sustained pressure you can pull them straight and get the lure back. Poppers are great fun off the rocks as well. Using Floating plugs and decent polaroids means that you can normally avoid the closer in snags anyway. Ive just spent a weekend plugging for bass down in cornwall and blanked though so dont take too much notice
  24. I wont walk across three drain covers in a row Pathetic isnt it, but its stuck from childhood.
