Shotgunspud
Hi all, Popped out with a mate of mine (Mark) who's is well lets say got the shooting bug now!! he started how we all did popping rabbits with his pellet gun... but now wants to move on to bigger things,,, He had been on at me for some time to take him out so i let him tag along on a nights lamping,, i let him shoot my 22 rim all night, and he shot very well taking 66 rabbits on his first night lamping one of my golf courses,, He has since been twice with me shooting very well and understanding what is a safe shot and not. This weekend i give the rabbits a brake and went to sit for a fox or 2 and taking Mark with me who was as keen as ever! we sat and waited for Mr fox in a field that i have shot lots in, and knowing it like the back of my hand we sat in a spot where i no they will be coming from??? just on last light now and it didn't take long before the first Fox showed its head!!! i lifted the rifle put the red dot on the chest and boom down it goes the 243 dose the job as always, it was about 145 yards dropped on the spot! Mark over there like a shot picked it up and ran back as he was doing this i look up the other end of the field and there was another one i span round and same again boom down that goes now we had been there all of 20mins so fantastic start, it started to get dark and on came the lamp! i got Mark ready and said right your go mate the smile said it all not 10mins passed and fox number 3 comes out ( now i have seen him shoot my rifles and he can shot better then most and that is no joke!!) so as i did he waited for the right time put the red dot on the chest a boom down goes his first fox 155yard dropped on the spot!! he was over to it so quick he could of court it from hitting the floor. LOL LOL Well done Mark many more to come!! Mark will be joining PW today i think. My first And mark with one of mine and his well done mate, please dont think its that easy all the time mate you will have good night and not so good but it will always beat sitting in. Thanks for reading Alex Edited May 24, 2011 by Shotgunspud

Birx
It's seems I've had an auspicious introduction to the sport! I'd put it down to beginners luck, but I've been fortunate to have a very experienced shooter as my mentor. Hopefully I'll continue to benefit from his years of experience and sixth sense like abilities. There's nothing more valuable than knowledge, and I'm grateful that he's so free with it. Pulling the trigger is the easy bit! Edited May 24, 2011 by Birx
