Made in Chelsea shooting incident!

Hello all,

Whilst being in the same room as the wife last night (23/05/11) who was watching "Made in Chelsea" on E4, I heard them talking about going clay shooting and watched to see how they got on. There was numerous incidents where little to no gun hadling safety was thought about and then they decided two of them would have a best of 10 comp. Spencer was seen to load the shotgun with 2 cartridges (whilst commenting abiut what he had chosen to wear!!) and then close the gun with his finger on the trigger causing it to discharge into the ground a few feet away, in shock he then moved the (still loaded) gun without making it safe in any way through the line of camera man and the small group of people standing around who were laughing!! I was horrified to see this type of dangerous use of guns again on prime time tv, as always many are let down by the few!!

I have noted that the incident was at approx 14mins 30sec into the programme for those who want to view it without having to watch the whole programme.

I noticed it...on the ADVERT! Most responsible shooters would be horrified about having an accidental discharge but once again the good ole'media can turn irresponsible handling into entertainment whilst brow beating legitimate shooters for such "horrors" as introducing youngsters to the sport in a safe and responsible manner!

Rant over

Oh come on... I see the old 'holier than though' brigade are out again!

ADs happen, I didn't see his finger on the trigger.... The reason you ALWAYS close your gun 'stock up' and pointing down range is so that the barrels are pointing at the ground and not somewhere else... exactly what he did... Closing the gun is the most comon time to have an AD..

He didn't then turn round and sweep the spectators with the barrels... his barrels did cut across the cameras... you seem to have forgotten something.... This is TV... it's not real... it's made up! That's like saying 'it was bloody irresponsible having the camera crews on the beach during the landing sequence of Saving Private Ryan!'

What would you have prefered? them all to look absolutely horrified and subsequently march off to report him to the estate owner and then get on to the local plod to report him for having an accidental discharge?

In reality, what would have probably happened is his shooting buddies would have had a snigger and then all crowded round to try and mentally strip down the action to see what the problem was!!

I wasted some more of my life searching for this on 4OD expecting some horrific scene... cone on guys... get a life!
