Woodypk
Hi there. Im looking for someone in the Grimsby and surrounding areas who have permissions to shoot to be able to teach me about vermin control and how to shoot correctly and somone who doesn't mine a newbie tagging along most of all. I'm 18 years old, willing and eager to learn and hope to be able to have my own permissions one day. I have my own Air Rifle (Air Arms S410 Superlite Deluxe) and BASC insurance and all I need now is the experience. Thanks very much, Tom.

Woodypk
I don't know where to start about asking farmers or where to find them. I know a farmhouse is a good start but I don't think any farmers will take to someone coming on their land to ask to shoot there. Specially an 18 year old with only a Sportbike motorcycle for transport. And I've been shooting for around a year. I had a cheapish Cometa 300 .177 I used to plink with but never been out on the hunt. I sold that and now I've got the new S410 and it's absoloutely amazing I just want to get out there. Stevie400 recently agreed to take me with him to his permission in Bawtry so I'm just gonna have to wait and see. It is a little bit far (60 miles) and like I said I only have a motorcycle for transport, but if it gives me the opportunity, I'm willing. Btw, where in Grimsby are you kamikazepigeon? Woodypk
kamikazepigeon Im from Cleethorpes. About 5 min walk from the sea front lol. swiss.tony, i suppose you are right. I will just have to get out there and ask. I'm thinking about joining a local gun club and asking there if I could possibly tag along with someone who has a permission. And martyn2233 I would probably travel about 60 miles just to get the chance to gain some valuable experience.
Sprackles
You must be close to me then because the sea wall is 100 yards from my house.
Woodypk
Sprackles, I'm guessing you live just off the sea front somewhere around Queens parade down to around the High street or somewhere? I live just off Clee road, a small road just off there. Btw guys from Cleethorpes/Grimsby, where do you all shoot and if you have permissions where and how far away are they? Cheers, Tom. Mightymariner
There are a couple of gun clubs near you, one at North Cotes I recall and one near Donna Nook, they shoot on the coast. Maybe it's worth trying some of the poultry/pig farmers south of Cleethorpes, with an air rifle you could be useful where a shotgun isn't. I am based in Louth and don't even want to think how much I spend on fuel. Some land is ten mins away but the best land I shoot on is 40 mins from me in the Wolds.
