I'd imagine that the calibre bods will be on here pretty soon, I'd also imagine that the hornet will do the job very nicely indeed..
wymberley
New to this and only got as far as I have because of the help from Magus69. I have a Weihrauch HW66 with an 18" barrel with a 1 in 16 twist. As yet I have no idea if this will stabilise a 50gr bullet and probably won't bother finding out anyway. In the link Mike refers to the MV/ME transfers downrange (200 to 250 yards or so) to just 20 ftlbs difference to my 40grainer: Putting to one side the wind element, same same really. Given a 40gr bullet with a BC of .221 and a MV of 2980ft/sec, is a fox going to feel lucky with 422 at 200 or 356ftlbs at 250 yards. So far, I can only answer for 200 yards and the answer is, no, he's not!
Mr_Logic
Hornet vs fox = dead fox, end of. No discussion possible. Onyly caveat, 45gr softpoints are rubbish, and can cause issues. 35gr vmax works, 46gr hollow points work, 40gr sierra soft points work too.
