CZ scopemounting

This will sound silly.

I lent my brother in law my schmidt which is sitting in Volqaurtsen Nova (weaver style) rings.

I have used these rings on my 10/22 and my Howa 1500.

He says the rings are too wide for his 452 .22WMR. As in the rail on his CZ is too narrow and the rings don't catch...

Could this be right?

yes that is right as the wever mounts are a lot wider from 11mm up to about 22mm i think where the cz dove tale is 3/8" :good:

Yes this is correct the dove tail is 3/8".

Here is the info Dan mate:

AmericanThe CZ 452 American features a more "American" appearance, with a straight-combed Turkish walnut stock. The barrel is 22½" long, and the rifle is not equipped with open sights. The top of the receiver is machined with a 3/8"-wide dovetail groove for mounting a telescopic sight. A left-handed version is also manufactured.

Are the Volqaurtsen rings not a bit of overkill on the .22? Also you release that you'll never get the Schmidt back again?

The Volquartsen rings are overkill on anything but the 270. But the Leupold has a 30mm tube and the VQs are 25mm... The Ruger 77 uses Ruger's own design which is one of the best rings out there.

Looks like Eugene isn't getting the Schmidt afterall- I dont want to put the Schmidt into **** rings.

The scope would be perfect for lamping with your .223 Ollie, but it's under-magged for long range bunnies/crows.
