Kudu
We had another good day on the peas yesterday. Three of us set up, including Andy 'ace' Crow, along with his film crew!!. The wind had changed direction 180 degrees from the last few weeks which ment the usual flight lines had changed. We set up two hides on one of the down wind fields. I had to move one of them after an hour to get under the pigeons, while The Crow Man set up close to the main wood where they were feeding from (the hot spot). The wind was behind him so it didn't affect the wood at all. The sport was very slow to start with, but it picked up from mid afternoon onwards. The total bag was over 260 with the Andy Crow shooting 184. So not too bad...
caeser
"So not too bad" Slight understatement me thinks. Nice one chaps.
Kudu
"So not too bad" Slight understatement me thinks. Nice one chaps. The 'Crow Man' estimated we would get between 300-350 between us given the 800 plus pigeon seen feeding there the previous few days. But because of the wind change the other field which they were favouring failed to produce a big bag. Last week Andy Crow estimated we would get 200 and we ended up with 181, although we had to finish early. And the week before I picked up 67 when he estimated 70!! I don't know how he does it. Kudu
It's nice when you can return to the same fields week after week and they keep producing. Luckily I've got 6 different shootable fields of peas, around 160 acres. It makes a change as there's not normally any pigeon shooting this time of year as we normally grow beans. The pigeons will most likely be on the peas right through to harvest.

I've got 1300 acres of peas to shoot over this year. Sadly, not all of the fields are shootable and not all attract too many pigeons. Mightymariner
Strange this year, pigeons didn't really hit the peas until last couple of weeks and then only a couple of fields are being hit..mind you, yesterday I watched 2-300 on a group of three fields together. Will be there on Thursday for a bash.

I shall be having a look in the next few days.

Kudu
I see the footage of the shooting on my peas with Andy Crow is now on the fieldssport channel (at the bottom of the forum). The 'gun cam' seemed to work well.
