Teal
Yes- they train abroad. Guy who has the most medals for Britain is a pistol shooter who won many at the commonwealths. Trains in Switzerland i think? Some pressure to repeal the ban as there will be a temporary reprease for the olympics. Some journo's have highlighted the ridiculess nature of it, but no direct or targetted action yet that I have seen. No pistol ban in N.Ireland though, think some from the mainland came over to train. gibby
Good to know, I would of thought with the ban and all our top shooters would have been some skin head mobster with a gold tooth, soverign rings and medalians round his neck. Highlander
Blame Dunblane (a terrible tragedy) but the people really responsible got away scott free (with full pension rights). If plod (that word again) had done their job properly it might not have happened. If the (Tory) government of the day hadn't given in to the anti's pistols might not have been banned. If BASC and all the other shooting and none shooting sports lobbies had supported the (50000 a minority group to be sure) pistol shooters things might have been different. Same with the fox hunters and now us and soon the fishermen. United we stand, divided we fall! How come you can still own/carry pistols in NI??? Defence??? Offence???
