1 of 5
What calibre you using? If .177 they fly straight through pigeons at close and medium ranges. Only above 45 yds will they not exit the bird on a body shot. Go for head/neckshots only as that never fails.
red_stag88
The problem about shooting pigeons (when facing you) is that they have alot of feathers, then lots of meat, then a big breast bone. As 1 0f 5 said head ore neck, if they are facing away, shoot them in the appropritae place in the back.
mahmood
ive got a airarms s200 its .22, thanks for the advice i will go for neck shots only now. thanks
BigDave15
Well Iv got a 22 Air Arms s200 and I had the same problem I couldnt hit pigeons in the head because they kept moving them about and body shots went working. So I asked my mate and he recokend to take them broadside just were the wing joins on the brest. I tryed it and It worked I was shocked how quickley it killed. Pigeons seam quite fat as well that proberly makes it harder for the pellet to get through.
Farma Geddon
The problem you are having has nothing to do with the power of your rifle. When you aim at the chest, you are probably shooting at the crop without realising it.Aim a little lower and they will drop stone dead. A full crop will deflect the pellets and behind it is the neck which is only a small target.Farmageddon
Chris B123
Your better hitting them in the chest they die straight away or right in mthe middle of there backs. Chris B Proud T.P.C, Member
