long range

Recommended Posts

Ackley, I hoped you were not going to get involved in this as like you say' you can't educate pork'. Long range shots at deer maybe explainable in the Scottish Highlands to take out an injured or sick red, but if you boasted those range deer shots round my way you would have your rifle made to fit snuggly somewhere at much closer range to your person.

well mate if there is someone big enough and stupid enough to try bring it on,on another note yes I was culling in the Scottish Highlands,by the way I wasnt boasting the question was asked by the OP and an answer given you take it as your will, matter not to me,Iam fortuante enough to be able to stalk and harvest game at extream ranges conditions permitting of course

thing is I dont see the man who only is able to shoot at 100 yards and hit 4 inch being torn into so why the other way around

Oh so sorry post number 103 you seemed to be blowing your own trumpet,no need to be disapointed mate pop down to Derbyshire (not as far as Bisley) Saturday Iam sure I can give you a good time with "the boys and guns"

No... just responding to those questioning my 'experience' not my 'skill.'

It would be easy to tell everyone I had a Cheytac Intervention and regularly shot out to 2.5k.. you have no way of knowing if I'm being a Mall Ninja or not...

However, unlike most on here I can offer evidence to the fact that I actually take part in the things I say I do and perhaps do actually have some experience of the things I talk about.

Can't do this weekend, have a young family and need a little more notice but any time over the summer hols would be fine... I thought someone mentioned a day at Wales Steel Challenge?

I also have a young family school holidays is fine as Iam out most weekends testing with different people

I wounldnt entertain steel challenge far to expensive and the bloke that runs it is a ***

as usual there are those that can and those that can't, those that can't whinge, and always will do

on another note wheres tommy trucker these days, he used to make some great shooting at range vids

Actually I think it is closer to 'those that will' and 'those that won't.'

You up for my Bisley challenge Paul, you seem to be hinting there that you are one of the ones that 'can!'

500 quid in a charity bucket, you get 100 back for every target hit between 500 & 1,000 yards

Hitting long range gongs I don't have too much trouble with.. Hitting them 1st shot, from a cold bore with no visual windage information down range....... that's a completely different story!

quite true and at no time has anyone who shoot long range said any different well I havnt, conditions thats what matters

so all this £500 in the charity box is bull mate and you know it,a 500 yard shot isnt hard if the condition are correct just like a 100 yard shot can be difficult again if condition are incorrect, the distance matters not

you have an open invite from me to come out and shoot long range vermin, crows rabbits pigeons all safe areas where visibilty is superb to anyone or anything around,I think you may be plesently surprized at what can be done off a bipod with a drop chart and wind metre

by the way I thought you target boys had wind flags to judge the wind unlike us varmint boys who have to look at the land

to be honest since leaving the range (485meters) i don't practice much long range stuff, but i do have one or two areas where it could be done very safely, bisley is a bit far for me, not to sure where the steel gong thing is so will have to have a look

i'll have to ask rob to get some batteries for his range finder

it aint going to happen I dont pay to shoot steel gongs as there just too easy and once you have hit them a few times it becomes boring I would ratrher sit out for a few hours to get a shot on some type of vermin, much more satifing

Ackley, I don't fear much and don't think your gonna change that, just saying it how it is. If there is a culling plan in the highlands that needs that sort of range then fair play to you if you can do it, after all in extreme conditions helicopters have been used. I believe half of what I see and virtually nowt I read on here so maybe our paths will cross someday and you can prove yr skills, I sincerely hope so.

thats fine mate as long as we know what hyme sheet were singing from so to speak,I dont lie mate no need to Ive been around the block far to many times, having the right kit and having confidence in your kit is the key factor to any shooting distance, also conditions play a big part

I would look forward to out paths crossing I hope to be around for quite a while yet,but I have nohting to proove one does what they need to do under the conditions there in
