Guest cookoff013
Probably a bit of everything I was given 70kg of 7.5 lead shot so will be using that for clay carts and will be buying some steel shot for duck loads thanks for the advice the problem with a bit of everything, you`ll need to buy spcific wads for steel, specific wads for lead, different powders, and different hulls. if we are talking 12gauge....... lets start you off. for 70kg lead would do... 2500 1 oz loads or 3125 24g lead loads. vectan as is great, gm3 can be used aswell, but it meters slightly better, being granular. primers would be the industrial type fio616, cx2000. wads would be gualandi are my favourite, but there are some other good ones out there. fibre wads available too. get some 3mm or 4mm over powder cards. cook. sitsinhedges
It might help to fill in your profile and location. Somebody close to you may be able to help FWIW, If I was given a load of 7 1/2 shot I would be looking to use 21grains of Vectan AS with a CX2000 primer and B&P T2 or similar plastic wad and load 24grams of the shot in a 70mm 12gauge case. A lovely little cartridge that breaks the clays well but is easy on the shoulder. Always verify recipes given out on the internet mind
Guest cookoff013
always verify recipes given out on the internet mind +1 couldnt agree more. i`d prefer the 24g load. just to make the shot last a few more shots.
Vince Green
If you go on ebay and search "reloading" there are some good american books for sale usually. Only problem is the loading data will only cover US powders but as a good how to do it guide its probably the best starting point. Then go to clay and game for their data. Vince Green
If you are starting I would stick with Claygame until you get a bit of experience, then start looking for cheaper later.
