billywoodsman
Hello i would just like to ask you guys which trade you sell your rabbits to,game dealer or maybe animal food producer? I have gained 2 new permissions over the last few months both with a high number of rabbits, one is a large garden were the tool of choice is my pcp air gun so are all clean head shots and they are the biggest plumpest rabbits i have ever seen due to the large amount of lush grass on the lawns, the other is 100 acres of sugar beet were i use a 12 bore. My freezer is full and it is such a waste of good meat to throw away fresh shot rabbit.
pegasus bridge
if you can get a decent number headshot with the airrifle you may be in business, the shotgun is not likley to harvest rabbits that you could sell on, might be able to give them away though. i shift some of mine onto a bird of prey centre, and have started shifting them on to a chap who feeds them raw to his dogs - the 'raw food' diet has a bit of a cult following by all accounts, but most of them i give away to anyone who will use them. I dont sell any to the gamedealer / butcher - but i'm sure someone will be along who does...
Scully
Our dealer will only take ferreted or headshot rabbits,as will raptor centres.Shotgunned ones are dog or ferret feed. Some raptor centres will only take day old poultry chicks as that way they are guaranteed free from all types of shot.Plus our dealer wont take less than a 100 at a time,so we freeze ours after cutting off the heads(get more in freezer)and generally have around 200 when we sell them.Depending on how many we shoot,if things are slow,we'll sometimes double up quantities with someone else,as long as we have over a 100 in total it's a good way of getting your money sooner.Shop around:yellow pages, web etc.

Wharf Rat
Butcher will take em as long as you skin and gut em first. He likely wont care hoe they were killed if they look OK
malkiserow
I've a dog breeder who feeds raw rabbit in the skin and takes everything I get. The butcher has the best ones Now, I rarely sell shotgun shot rabbits, the butcher only wants rifle headshot ones. I've tried to persuade him to joint rabbits and ditch the rib-cage but he won't. I know for sure some people are put off buying whole rabbit as they think it looks too much like a baby (human) when the fur is off
malantone
I sell mine to the butcher £2.50 dressed to sell, dont forget to cut the pelvis and remove the bowel, he will take most of what I get, he joints any that are damaged.
