pavman
Gents, Imagine my horror when I received a call yesterday from the council at 4pm asking if I owed a black lab and a terrier! My lab, incited no doubt by the terrier (who has free roam of the garden) decided to break out of her run. She managed to find the only strand of chain link not secured with a horseshoe nail and then proceeded to tease it out till she had a hole big enough to squeeze through. Once out and into another fenced area of Mrs P’s veg plot she dug under that fence to join her partner in crime. She then applied the same tactic to the garden chain link and forced a way out for the two of them. They where found a mile from our house stopping traffic by two kind council workers and taken to a local council animal sanctuary. They where scanned (both are micro chipped) and I was called to collect. Thank goodness neither came to any harm The whole episode happened between 11am and 4pm and just underlines the power and determination of a lab. All is now well, and both dogs seem very subdued this morning. I will of course seek out the two kind gents to express my appreciation. Has this ever happend to any of you? pavman Edited April 21, 2006 by pavman
new to the flock
Poor litllte Astra. Being blamed for it all when in fact we know that the terrier dug under the garden fence to her kennel. Then proceeded to make a hole and entice her out through it, with promises of taking her to see her Daddy. Just think of the joy that she thought she would have been bringing you with a surprised visit. That terrier then lured her back through the garden fence to the outside fence where it dug a way out for the both of them Ah but the terriers plan went arye when he got caught as well by the council workers.....he figured he was going to be free of poor Astra once and for all, and be the only" precious little doggie" once again . Pavman Mate, watch out for the Terrier you are next on his list NTTF

davhope
The Lab was the "Brains" behind this plot, The Terrier would have been the Muscle , digging, fencecutting etc. I swear my lab has got a pair of wire cutters hidden somewhere in her run, She has broken out 4 times now and is now in the dog equvelent of colditz, Regards David
