edge007
Hello, im wondering what chokes i should use for clay pigeon shooting. Ive got various different chokes including an Invector plus choke. Clay distance ranging from 20 - 40 yards.
oscarsdad
For clays with my maxus I shoot everything with 1/4 choke (the one with 4 notches in) apart from skeet for which I use the skeet choke (5 notches) but this is down to personal preference - for DTL or ball trap you have to hit them quick and close to the trap otherwise they are too far away with an openish choke. Redditch
Most would be Imp Cyl or 1/4, although for some you really need a half. For DTL and trap you´de probably be better with 3/4 or full, depending how fast you are

For DTL and trap you´de probably be better with 3/4 or full, depending how fast you are When I had a Maxus last year (now gone) I used a Modified - that's half-choke I think - I only ever shoot clays. Actually bought Modified and Skeet Midas extended choke tubes - black with the gold rings (bling ), p/x'd the Maxus for the 425 OU and kept the tubes......
