Odd problem I have...

2007 Hilux double cab 3.0D4D.

When I bought it i had factory bluetooth fitted and all has been fine in the last 4 years.

Today driving along with my radio off a very loud vibrating noise ( like when a radio loses signal) came through the speakers and would not go away on my 30 mile journey home, bar for about 30 seconds when i went over 60mph. Obviously when I turn engine off and remove key it stops.

Any clues to fix what may have caused the problem before I end up doing something drastic to stop the noise.

Thanks in advance.

No the bluetooth has stopped working completly. There seems to be no power to it.

Radio works ok but you have to have it on 52 volume to hear it!

The noise comes out of all the speakers and is driving me nuts as well as being quite embarrasing whilst driving through towns etc lol

if the radio is easy to pull out I'd pull it out and at minimum disconnecting the iso connectors at the back should stop the problem straight away. Then if you can't see anything loose find an auto electrician as sounds an interesting one to sort out/

pull a fuse is the best way to stop it,

That means its getting a live feed when the ignition is off which is odd almost sounds like you have a wire that has frayed or something like that, not to make it sound too drastic but it sounds like it needs sorting asap before it goes up in flames
