Dekers
I am not a trophy hunter and generally don't get many like this boy anyway. As a matter of interest does anyone know about BASC/BDS/etc measuring service, what sort of money are we talking and do you think this may make it at all. Cheers
gixer1
Cracking rack on him dekers, the only thing that may keep it is the rear length v's front... Would certainly think it's a medal head though...unless you have A hand like Jeremy beadle! Regards, Gixer
scolopax
Might scrape a bronze................. Or it might make gold easily, hard to tell from photos but to be serious I would say that is a dead cert Gold. Well done on taking a beautiful trophy. CIC are the main players in the measuring game, usually set up in the BDS tents at the larger game fairs. I think the measuring is free, but you pay for the certificate and medal, about £40 I think (?). The BASC service uses the same scoring system as the CIC and is done by Dominic Griffith, an ex CIC measurer. He seems a decent guy, I think he resigned from the CIC over a Baillie head that was given a top medal status by his CIC collegues (could be wrong on that score though). scolopax
Oh, and don't cut the head ! Remove the lower jaw and clean the full skull, allow to dry for 90 days then you can get it scored.
